Pesto is one of the easiest sauces to make but I haven’t made it in over 3 years! I had planted Basil in the summer and after a big harvest just before fall, was left with cup-loads of the leaves. After using them in salads, soups and what not, I realized it was time to make pesto. I pretty much used the same recipe that I did last time using Basil instead of Coriander and the result was equally yummy.
This can be used not just as a pasta sauce, but also as a dip or even as a dressing for salad. Enjoy!

What a brilliant recipe! Definitely on my to try list. Also liked the idea of adding green apples to pasta (from your past recipe).

Thanks Suman. Green Apples add a nice bite and a tangy sweet taste to the pasta or salad.

Call it divine providence, but I had clicked your blog from Varsha’s too and drooling at your post on Pehelwan ki lassi while reminiscing my visit there 4 years back. Nice to have you here, Sangeetha and basil flowers on the table is pretty interesting, I should add.

I love basil. I used it in my Thai recipes and also for pesto. Pesto is simple to make and just yummy. My kids love them!

Welcome here, Rachna and hope to see you more. I love basil too and of all pesto, the one with basil is the best, me thinks π

Really? Have you tried pesto with other herbs – I am thinking coriander or even mint π
