Pom Ras

26 Mar

You are probably wondering what the heck Pom Ras is, having never heard of such a dish. Well, don’t be surprised that you have not, as this is a name that I christened the fruit punch that I prepared πŸ™‚ Pretty innovative, huh?

As the title suggests, this contains Pomegranate juice among other things. I prepared this for a friend’s baby shower last month, keeping in mind the fact that Pomegranate was doing the rounds in the blogosphere. Inertia and busy schedule didn’t let me post in time for the blog event and I never got around to posting this. This was till I chanced upon the theme for this months MBP @ Sig’s is “Mixed Drinks” (Whoo hoo!).

Pom ras

I mixed equal amounts of Orange and Pomegranate Juices, and added a few scoops of Raspberry sorbet to this. Then I added some diced apple to the mixture and let it sit overnight. This was inspired by the delicious punch TC had prepared for the Bay Area Food Blogger’s meet.

Nice Matters
Finally thanks are due to Sreelu for showering the “Nice Matters” award on me. What on earth does this award mean? β€œNice Matters Award is for those bloggers who are nice people; good blog friends and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration. Also for those who are a positive influence on our blogging world.”

There are tons of blogs out there, each unique and exemplary in its own way, and truly worthy of this award. However, as is customary, I would like to pass on this award to a few of those that have inspired me and remained a good read – Laksh, UL , Raaga, Madhuram, Apar, Meeta, Bee & Jai, Lekhni, Julia and Sowmya. Also I would like to pass it on to my fellow bay area bloggers – TC, Ashwini, TT, Mythreyee, Revathi and Shankari.

Update:Β  Just found out about the Fun n Summer Event hosted by EasyCrafts. Off goes this recipe to her event as well. Summer Event

what an original name, Akay, Pom-Ras, loved it. This as is sounds yum, I am sure adding a bit of liqueur would give it a kick that I am gonna love..will try it.

As for the award Akay, thank you, I am so lost for words, thank you much, what a pleasant surprise to be greeted with this morning…thank you.

BTW, I have a request, if you could make baklava and post a recipe that would be great..

Raspberry liqueur or Grand Marnier would be my choice πŸ™‚ Well, how can I say no to a request from you, but do you have to choose baklava of all things… It is a relatively simple one but requires patience, which is not my strong point πŸ˜› Anyway, will do it soon enough and post it. -A-kay

    A-Kay,

My response to your comment on my blog-

Aaaha……that is why the latter half of your blog’s name sounds like K. Also, my real name begins with A ): how much spookier is this going to be? Maybe, we could email each other to find out.
